Michael Basile advises clients, typically financial institutions, on compliance with federal and state regulations applicable to transactions and activities such as fund formation mergers and acquisitions, branch sales and purchases, public securities offerings and enforcement proceedings. In addition, he has counseled clients in connection with the assisted acquisition of failed financial institutions and selected assets from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Michael's regulatory practice requires him to make frequent appearances before the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Before joining Stroock, Michael served as General Counsel to the Florida Department of Banking and Finance (now the Florida Office of Financial Regulation), which is charged with regulating all state-chartered commercial banks, savings and loans, and credit unions, and is the Florida Blue Sky regulator.
