Launched in 2001, our Public Service Project continues Stroock’s longtime commitment to serving the public interest. With the primary focus on providing legal assistance to underserved and under-resourced communities, the PSP practice – one of the first to be led by a full-time partner – offers a multidisciplinary approach to delivering comprehensive legal services. Attorneys throughout the firm contribute their talents, skills and experience to each pro bono client’s matter with the same dedication and enthusiasm that have made us one of the nation’s leading law firms.
We’ve helped shape the private bar’s response to crises including September 11, Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy, and we’ve long maintained a varied roster of charitable and civic organizations to which we provide crucial support. Most recently, in an effort to provide substantive legal counsel to the New York businesses and organizations most directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we launched the Small Business Legal Relief Alliance together with partner law firms and legal aid organizations.
From civic reform efforts led by our founders more than a century ago to our recent work on behalf of separated migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border, we pride ourselves on being leaders in pro bono practice.
