We are committed to fostering our single greatest asset, our people, an environment in which our differences are celebrated and our essential commonality is revealed, through education and programming that unites us in serving our clients and our communities.

A critical component of the firm’s success is to have a diverse and inclusive workplace, one where everyone feels valued and eager to contribute to the business and the success of our clients. Attracting, retaining and developing the best and most diverse talent will ensure that we have the strongest possible team to address our clients’ increasingly complex needs. With the help of our engaged affinity groups and our dedicated leaders on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, Stroock strives to provide the best in holistic programming and events. We take into consideration our primary service providers and vendors’ commitment to DEI within their own organizations. We continue to work to expand the integration of inclusive policies, programs and advancement efforts. This was exemplified in our being named one of 2018 and 2019’s Best Firms for Minority Attorneys by Law360, an honor that recognizes our work to provide clients with creative and innovative solutions through our commitment to the inclusion of people with different insights and experiences. Our lawyers were shortlisted in five categories – and selected as the winner in one – in the inaugural Chambers Diversity and Inclusion Awards as well as the winner of the New York Law Journal’s Diversity Initiative Award. We were also recognized with Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2021 Compass Award designation, which represents Stroock’s involvement in LCLD’s programs and the promotion of LCLD’s mission.

We also successfully implemented Implicit Bias Training–live mandatory presentations in each office involving substantive research and findings on how unconscious and implicit biases impact interactions in the legal workplace.
