Jeffrey Meyers focuses his practice in energy, corporate and transactional matters. He has broad experience in the development and financing of domestic and international energy projects, and the acquisition and sale of interests in energy facilities and companies. Jeff represents strategics, sponsors, developers, private equity investors, infrastructure funds, upstream and midstream oil and gas companies, equipment manufacturers, and governments on all aspects of energy industry matters. Jeff’s work has spanned five continents.

  • Altamont Winds LLC in connection with the development and financing of a 57.5MW wind farm project in Northern California whose output will be sold to East Bay Community Energy, a Community Choice Aggregator
  • NextEra Energy in almost $2 billion of project financings of wind, hydro and gas-fired generation facilities across the United States
  • Gamesa Energy in the development of the Sandy Ridge, Senate, Minonk and Pocahontas Prairie wind farms
  • Gamesa Energy in the sale of the Chestnut Flats Wind Farm
  • Green Earth Fuels in all aspects of the development, construction and project financing of a 90 million gallon-per-year biodiesel facility
  • Indeck Energy in the acquisition of Adirondack Hydro Development Corp
  • Wind energy subsidiaries of Morgan Stanley in project development matters
  • A renewables developer in diligence on and the potential acquisition of a utility scale solar thermal generator
  • A renewables company in the development of multiple solar PV facilities for several industrial customer sites
  • A midwestern public utility in the acquisition of renewable power and renewable generating assets
  • Corridor Energy Holdings, a portfolio company owned by the JPMorgan Infrastructure Investment Funds, in the acquisition of two wind farms
  • Aries Clean Energy, designer of the world’s largest downdraft gasification plant, in the issuance of new equity and the receipt of additional capital commitments from Spring Lane Capital
  • A major energy trading firm in the potential acquisition of the North American gas and power trading platform of one of the world’s leading food, agriculture and industrial products companies
  • Linden VFT, LLC, an affiliate of GE Energy Financial Services, in connection with its 315 megawatt bidirectional electrical transfer capability between the control area of the PJM Interconnection, LLC and the New York Independent System Operator Inc
  • Furie Operating Alaska LLC in its sale in bankruptcy
  • BPZ Energy, a subsidiary of BPZ Resources, in a reserve-based financing with the International Finance Corporation and multiple secured debt financings with Credit Suisse for exploration and production activities in northern Peru
  • BPZ Energy in a farmout to Pacific Rubiales of a 49 percent interest in offshore Block Z1 in exchange for $335 million
  • BPZ Resources, an oil and gas exploration and production company formerly listed on the NYSE, in a Section 363 bankruptcy sale of its hydrocarbon assets
  • The Carlyle Group in the acquisition of 75.05 percent of the outstanding interests of Southeast PowerGen Holdings, LLC, which owns a 2.815 megawatt portfolio of six natural gas-fired power plants in Georgia, from ArcLight Capital Partners and the GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, as well as a $550 million recapitalization of the company
  • GDF SUEZ Energy North America in the acquisition from Energy Capital Partners of FirstLight Power Enterprises, which owned and operated 16 hydro- and fossil-fueled generating units with a combined capacity of 1,538 megawatts
  • An independent power producer in the development and project financing of a 225MW simple cycle gas generating plant in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
  • Linden Cogeneration Project in the development and construction of new gas pipelines to connect the 6x3 combustion turbine-based cogeneration facility to two interstate pipeline companies
