Stroock Names Two New Partners And Five Special Counsel
New York, New York, January 13, 2015 — Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a national law firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington, DC, named two new partners and five special counsel, effective January 1, 2015.

The new partners are:
Brian C. Frontino (Partner – Litigation, Miami) Mr. Frontino is part of the Firm’s Financial Services/Class Action Practice Group and handles complex litigation, including both individual and class actions. In particular, Mr. Frontino has extensive knowledge of state and federal laws relating to data security and privacy, debt collection, credit reporting, military lending, automobile finance, unfair business practices and other consumer protection statutes. Mr. Frontino represents a wide array of companies, including credit card issuers, mortgage lenders, consumer reporting agencies, e-commerce companies, automotive finance companies, and student lenders. Mr. Frontino appears in state and federal courts around the country, at both the trial and appellate levels. Mr. Frontino received his J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and his B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.
Joseph B. Giminaro (Partner – Tax Certiorari, New York) Mr. Giminaro manages Stroock’s Tax Certiorari Practice Group. He has over 30 years’ experience handling complex real estate tax matters and handles major real estate tax cases before the New York City Tax Commission and in pre-trial settlement negotiations. He also provides advice on real estate tax issues relating to new acquisitions and development projects. Prior to joining Stroock, Mr. Giminaro was the Chief Real Estate Tax Counsel to the NYC Department of Finance. Mr. Giminaro received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A. from Syracuse University.
The new special counsel are:
Alex Cota (Special Counsel – Commercial Finance, New York) Mr. Cota represents banks, other financial institutions, private equity and hedge funds, and private companies on a variety of secured and unsecured credit, and other finance transactions for borrowers and lenders, including administrative agents and arrangers. Mr. Cota has recently worked on senior and subordinated revolving and term loan credit facilities, acquisition financings, asset-based financings, loan workouts and restructurings, debtor-in-possession financings and bankruptcy exit financings. Mr. Cota received his J.D. from Stanford Law School and his B.A. with high honors from the University of Texas.
Brian I. Greene (Special Counsel – Private Funds, New York) Mr. Greene represents sponsors of private funds in their formation and investments, including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and infrastructure funds. Mr. Greene’s clients include domestic and foreign banks, financial institutions and asset managers. In addition, he regularly represents institutional and high-net-worth investors in connection with their investments in various private equity funds. Mr. Greene received his J.D. from the University of Michigan, his M.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and his B.A., cum laude, from Binghamton University.
Elizabeth R. Lorton (Special Counsel – Real Estate, New York) Ms. Lorton has a broad-based commercial real estate transactional practice, with particular emphasis on acquisitions, development, joint ventures and financings. She represents clients involved in pension funds and private real estate funds, among other areas. Ms. Lorton received her M.B.A. from San Francisco State University, her J.D. from Georgetown University and her B.A. from the University of Maryland.
Beth A. Norton (Special Counsel – Employment Law, New York) Ms. Norton represents some of New York City’s largest public employee unions in negotiations, arbitrations, administrative proceedings and litigation on a variety of issues in both state and federal court, including contract and pension issues, as well as statutory and constitutional rights. She also represents private employers in connection with employment-related issues and advises on the labor and employment ramifications of mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcy and similar transactions. Ms. Norton received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School, her Ph.D. from Boston College, her M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and her B.M., magna cum laude, at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell.
Debbie Y. Yeh (Special Counsel – Real Estate, Los Angeles) Ms. Yeh focuses on the representation of private and institutional investors, developers and lenders in various areas of real estate transactions, with an emphasis on acquisition, disposition, financing and joint ventures involving a variety of property types, including retail, industrial, office, mixed-use, multi-family residential and hotels. She has represented lenders and borrowers in connection with various aspects of commercial lending, including loan originations, restructurings and workouts. Ms. Yeh received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of California – Los Angeles.
