“Stroock is honored to be recognized as ‘Law Firm of the Year’ for our M&A Infrastructure work,” said Richard Madris, partner and chair of Stroock’s Infrastructure practice. “The award reflects the growing strength of our infrastructure and mergers and acquisitions practices. This past year has been particularly active for us in these areas.”

The firm represents US and non-US clients in acquiring US infrastructure assets, and also represents US clients in acquiring OECD infrastructure assets. Stroock represents numerous infrastructure funds, companies and other investors in M&A and investments in energy assets, transportation assets and utilities. In 2012, M&A transactions included representing clients in connection with a US port privatization; the buyout of a US water utility; a US investor leading a bid to buy a European airport; the Carlyle/Sunoco US refinery JV transaction; and several gas LDC acquisitions and platform expansions. The Stroock Infrastructure practice also assists clients with the formation of infrastructure funds and joint ventures in the infrastructure space.
The annual M&A Awards celebrates excellence and recognizes investors, advisors, and service providers pinpointed for their expertise in their specialized fields. Winners of the annual M&A Awards are determined by several criteria, including numbers of votes received from peers and industry professionals; in-house research; and supporting documentation received from nominees.
