“It is common knowledge that prosecutors in several jurisdictions—Washington, D.C., New York, and Atlanta, Georgia—are targeting former president Trump for crimes he may have committed in connection with the 2020 presidential election, and crimes related to his financial practices,” Senior Counsel Joel Cohen and Prof. Bennett L. Gershman of Pace University’s Elisabeth Haub School of Law state in new analysis for New York Law Journal.
“Even with powerful evidence of guilt, prosecutors will face daunting challenges to persuade a jury of Trump’s guilt, and then defend that conviction in appellate courtrooms,” they add.
