Requirements contracts provide both buyers and sellers with practical advantages that can provide for a more efficient sale and purchase of commodities than contracts simply providing for specified quantity, price, and durational terms.  This article focuses on some of the key elements that parties should consider when structuring a requirements contract, and provides important pointers to parties that are considering entering into requirements contracts.
