Steve Newman and Dustin Linden, in partnership with the Disability Rights Law Center (DRLC), achieved a significant victory both for our individual client and for DRLC. In an action filed in federal court in Los Angeles, Steve and Dustin argued that several transportation companies discriminated against our wheelchair-bound client in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and related California laws by failing to provide our client with safe and equal access to the companies’ transportation services. Under a settlement agreement reached with the companies, they will implement significant changes to their internal compliance programs to better ensure they provide lawful and proper access to all customers in the future.

Founded in 1975, Disability Rights Legal Center (DRLC) is a 501C-3 non-profit, public interest advocacy organization that champions the civil rights of people with disabilities as well as those affected by cancer.
