Press Release

Stroock’s national Real Estate Group recently made headlines in virtually every publication covering New York City real estate with a transaction that bucked the trends of the COVID-19 crisis.

Stroock advised Edward J. Minskoff Equities in FTI Consulting’s recent 120,000-square-foot lease at the 1166 Sixth Avenue office tower in Midtown Manhattan.

“The deal is one of the largest to close since the global pandemic hit Manhattan, which saw leasing activity grind to a near halt,” The Real Deal noted. “Leasing during the second quarter totaled just 3.18 million square feet, the lowest figure since 2009.”

The transaction follows Stroock’s guidance of another milestone matter in New York in the COVID era: a joint venture managed by Lendlease and L&M Development Partners obtained construction financing for the development of 100 Claremont Avenue into a 354,000-square-foot mixed-use building in the cultural and academic neighborhood of Morningside Heights.

The Stroock team in the leasing matter includes partner Trevor Adler and associate Ida Phair.

Leasing is a core strength of Stroock’s Real Estate team. Trevor and the rest of Stroock’s national leasing team have a reputation for handling highly complex commercial lease transactions in New York City, Washington, D.C. and across the country.
