In a recent Washington Examiner article titled “New Privacy Bill Would Add 400 FTC Employees,” Stephen Newman discusses new legislation introduced in the Senate to add 440 employees to the FTC’s workforce to monitor new regulations “including a requirement that companies implement comprehensive data security programs.”

“Uniform, nationwide standards for privacy and data security would be a good step” said Newman, to assist “businesses already dealing with a patchwork of state privacy and data security laws.”
