Former Judge Shira Scheindlin, of counsel in Stroock’s General Litigation group, was honored with the “Above & Beyond” designation by City & State magazine.

The award recognizes 30 women for leadership in their respective fields and contributions to society in business, public service, media, nonprofits and organized labor.

Judge Scheindlin will be honored at a ceremony on March 28 at the Dream Downtown hotel in Manhattan, and will be profiled in a special edition of the magazine.

With more than four decades of experience in government service, private practice and on the bench, Judge Scheindlin maintains a robust mediation and arbitration practice in addition to her work in litigation and other areas. She was appointed as a U.S. District Judge in the Southern District of New York by President Bill Clinton.

City & State is a media organization that covers local and state politics and policy in New York.
