In this article, Stroock partner Eva Talel features an important update and policy clarification regarding Local Law 11 inspection requirements for balcony enclosures and updated guidelines regarding  permissible uses of building rooftops and terraces by apartment owners—both recently issued by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). This article  also makes recommendations to boards, managers and owners regarding how to best navigate DOB’s new policy and rooftop use guidelines.
