Law360 recently examined trends that defined the real estate market in 2022.

Stroock Partner Trevor Adler remarks on the cooling of the logistics industry and the boom of retail. "Logistics and industrial were the strong points and the holdouts of the weakening of the market during the pandemic. 2022 has been the first sign that those areas have shown signs of weakness, with Amazon and other logistics operators reducing workforces and reducing their footprints, not expanding their footprints," states Trevor.

Trevor adds, "2022 has been a great year for retail. Retail in many markets are at pre-pandemic levels or above pre-pandemic levels...Now that segment is back and … better than ever. In New York City, we’re also seeing a lot of positive lifestyle-type places.”
