UPDATE: Landmarks Preservation Commission Approves the Upper East Side Historic District Extension

Earlier this afternoon, the Landmarks Preservation Commission of the City of New York (the "LPC") approved the proposed extension of the Upper East Side Historic District. The expanded boundaries of the Upper East Side Historic District now include properties on or near Lexington Avenue from approximately East 63rd Street to East 65th Street and also from East 72nd Street to East 75th Street, as shown in the map to the right.

As any development, alteration and/or renovation of properties in any historic district designated by the LPC ("Landmarks District") is subject to LPC's jurisdiction, owners, developers, managers, lessees and those in the real estate lending industry are encouraged to become familiar with the extent of LPC's regulation of properties in a Landmarks District.
