“New York State Amends the Wage Theft Prevention Act”
On December 29, 2014, Governor Cuomo signed a bill amending the New York Wage Theft Prevention Act (the “Act”). The amendments eliminated the requirement that employers provide an annual wage notice to current employees. The amendments, however, increase penalties for noncompliant employers.
