Michael McCarthy is an experienced real estate finance attorney with who advises institutional lenders, borrowers and investors in connection with a wide variety of commercial real estate finance and related matters. Mike also represents clients with the acquisition and disposition of real estate, including the formation of joint venture vehicles to acquire real estate.
Mike has served as the lead counsel on hundreds of transactions and is experienced in securitized lending, mortgage loans, mezzanine loans, A/B note structures, preferred equity, construction loans, and intercreditor and co-lending arrangements. His transactions have crossed a wide range of property types including office, industrial, residential, multifamily, retail, hospitality and mixed use. Mike also devotes a portion of his practice to real estate capital markets transactions, and in particular, repurchase facilities, for both borrower and lenders. Experienced in all finance matters and at every stage of a loan’s life cycle, Mike applies his real-time, in-depth market knowledge, unparalleled insight and skill to help clients achieve their unique business and legal goals. Efficient and practical, he provides exceptional value with tailored business and legal solutions.
Mike counsels clients in connection with acquisition and disposition of whole loans, participation interests, and subordinate notes and in connection with loan workouts, restructurings and workouts and foreclosures and deed-in-lieu transactions.
