Robert Wright has several decades of experience in complex business litigation, including class and multi-district litigation.

Representative Matters

Mr. Wright’s notable corporate, regulatory and insurance related representations have included:
  • Defending numerous business entities, including Fortune 500 companies, in business tort cases such as putative class actions alleging discrimination, securities fraud or consumer law violations
  • Acting as lead trial counsel in a $3.8 billion hostile tender offer battle over a Florida insurance corporation
  • Representing corporations being investigated by the Florida Attorney General’s office
  • Representing Florida regulators in connection with suits arising out of the failure of insurance companies
  • Representing insurance companies seeking to obtain or renew their certificates to do business in Florida
  • Representing numerous California and foreign wine makers and vintners’ organizations in federal and state lawsuits involving the direct shipment of wine and alcoholic beverages to Florida consumers
  • Representing, on a pro bono basis, six migrant farm workers in a human trafficking case
Mr. Wright also has significant experience in litigation involving the world of sports. He represented The Big East Conference, the University of Pittsburgh, the University of West Virginia, Rutgers University and the University of Connecticut in the litigation filed by the University of Miami relating to its switch to the ACC. He has represented a number of individual athletes, including a reigning heavyweight champion, in various matters, including a case involving the disappearance of three world championship belts. Additionally, he also has acted as local counsel for a corporate entity that brought suit against the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) for breach of a licensing agreement.
