Stroock Advises Minskoff on Trio of Leases That Bring 1166 Avenue of Americas to Full Occupancy
New York—October 30, 2018—Stroock’s national Real Estate Group announced today that it advised Edward J. Minskoff Equities, Inc. (“EJM”) on three new leases that bring its 1.6 million-square-foot office tower at 1166 Avenue of the Americas to full occupancy.
The new lease agreements cover 52,000 square feet at the newly renovated tower between West 45th and 46th Streets. Existing tenant D.E. Shaw & Co., LP expanded its space by 6,500 square feet, while new tenants William Blair & Company, LLC and Cross Lake Partners, LLC took 40,200 square feet and 5,300 square feet, respectively.
“This property is a gem of midtown that has been revitalized through EJM’s recent capital improvements,” said Stroock partner Trevor Adler, who advised EJM on the leases working closely with Jeffrey M. Sussman, Executive Vice President of EJM. “Our team is gratified but entirely unsurprised that 1166 Avenue of the Americas is now fully leased.”
In recent years, EJM has invested extensively in the 44-story building. It undertook a Gensler-led renovation of the lobby, which now features new lighting and statement artworks including Roy Lichtenstein’s “Modern Tapestry” and “Amerind Landscape.” EJM also enhanced the telecommunications infrastructure of the building, which is accessible to Grand Central Terminal, Pennsylvania Station and the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
The members of Stroock’s national leasing team that represented EJM on these matters were Trevor Adler, Jack Bart and Debra Sapp. Stroock’s national leasing team is a leader in the negotiation of major commercial leases in New York City and across the United States on behalf of both landlords and tenants, and is known for its broad market perspective and creative problem-solving capabilities.
