Ross F. Moskowitz Named to Commercial Observer’s “Leading Legals: New York’s Most Powerful Real Estate Attorneys” List for 2015
New York, NY, April 29, 2015 — Ross F. Moskowitz, a partner in Stroock’s Real Estate Practice Group and the head of its Land Use Practice Group, was named to Commercial Observer’s “Leading Legals: New York’s Most Powerful Real Estate Attorneys” list for 2015, an honor received by only seven attorneys in the City. As a supplement to the Power 100 list, Commercial Observer showcased these attorneys to acknowledge their contributions to New York’s real estate ecosystem.
The feature highlights several of the deals Mr. Moskowitz has worked on over the past year including the redevelopment of Kingsbridge Armory, Willets Point and the Domino Sugar Factory site.
As part of the feature, Mr. Moskowitz told Commercial Observer that, “There are two significant trends in the city that will impact my practice: the development of affordable housing … and the increase in public-private partnerships which my partner Karen Scanna and I see as not only a way to increase project efficiency but also provide cost savings which can then be invested into other projects.”
Mr. Moskowitz focuses on real estate development with an emphasis on land use, zoning, public-private partnerships, environmental and tax abatement and exemption issues. His practice also focuses on structuring multi-faceted projects involving public-private development and financing arrangements. He regularly appears before governmental agencies such as the New York City Planning Commission, the Board of Standards and Appeals and the Landmarks Preservation Commission on behalf of private developers, institutional investors, investment management groups and not-for-profit institutions seeking discretionary zoning approvals. He also provides advice to many financial service and media companies and professional service firms regarding their strategic plans for multiple occupancies throughout the metropolitan area. Mr. Moskowitz is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He is also the chair of the Committee on Land Use Planning and Zoning for the New York City Bar Association.
