Stroock Success on Behalf of Congressman Jerry Nadler
New York, NY, July 30, 2008 -- Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a leading national law firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, won a favorable ruling today on behalf of its client, Congressman Jerry Nadler, at the New York City Board of Elections. Jerry H. Goldfeder of Stroock represented Congressman Jerry Nadler in the case, which involved a challenge to the designating petition of Democratic Party primary election opponent Adam Sullivan.
The Board of Elections sustained the objections to Sullivan. Sullivan was disqualified as a candidate because he was not an enrolled Democrat and, therefore, cannot run in the Democratic primary. Congressman Nadler will now run unopposed in the September 9, 2008, Democratic primary.
"This legal victory will ensure that a strong and important voice for New York will continue in the Congress," said Mr. Goldfeder, Congressman Nadler's attorney.
