Achieving an important step towards completion, Brooklyn-based real estate developer, the Leser Group, held the topping-out ceremony today for 2440 Fulton Street – soon to be the largest commercial building in the Broadway Junction section of East New York in Brooklyn.
The Leser Group first acquired the development site in 2015. At its Spring 2022 groundbreaking ceremony, 2440 Fulton Street was lauded as bringing best-in-class commercial space through New York's "City Agencies Revitalizing the Economy" (CARE) strategy for sparking commercial growth outside of the city's traditional business districts. The building is anticipated to contain over 300,000 square-feet of office and retail space for public, private, and nonprofit tenants, boosting the local economy of East New York.
Led by Partner Ross Moskowitz, Stroock had successfully represented the Leser Group in connection with an anchor lease with the City of New York for approximately 265,957 square feet of space to be used by the New York City Department of Social Services' Human Resources Administration (HRA), allowing the HRA to consolidate operations and improve client experience with rapid electronic check-in systems, upgrades to self-service technology, and expanded waiting areas. The space will be occupied by more than 1,100 HRA employees.
Moskowitz says “Stroock is proud to support our client, The Leser Group, in this transformative public private partnership with Mayor Adams’ administration to drive economic development into the Broadway Junction corridor.”
