Crain’s New York Business

While fitness centers and gyms contemplate their futures in New York City after months of forced closures, Stroock recently advised Edward J. Minskoff Equities (EJME) on a retail lease with CycleBar, an operator of premier fitness studios with locations throughout the United States and Canada, at the prestigious 51 Astor Place in Manhattan, while simultaneously representing EJME in the bankruptcy proceedings of the previous tenant, Flywheel, to expedite the termination of Flywheel’s lease.

In the Crain’s New York Business article, Trevor Adler, who led the team advising EJME on the deal, noted that the landlord had been searching for a new tenant. Meanwhile the bankruptcy court rejected the former tenant’s lease, terminating it and ordering the company to vacate the space.
