Focusing on the growing trend of unionizing in the United States, SHRM’s “NYC Workers Form Nation’s Largest Union of Legislative Employees” examines the Association of Legislative Employees’ push for elected officials to join. Stroock partner Dina Kolker remarks how the ALE has organized and been built from the ground, noting that "legislative employees, like other employees, want stability in pay and scheduling. They want to be compensated fairly for their skill and experience level." Kolker says there are unique challenges inherently associated with unions and also remarked “the real work of studying and prioritizing member concerns and beginning to present them across the table.”
