Kevin Matz, a partner in Stroock’s Private Client Services Group, has been appointed as chair of the Business Planning Committee of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). Kevin will serve a one-year term commencing at the conclusion of ACTEC’s 2021 Annual Meeting in March.
As chair of the committee, Kevin will help coordinate ACTEC’s consideration of estate and tax planning approaches and techniques under present law (as well as participate in responses to proposed regulations and other guidance that may be issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the IRS) with emphasis on income and transfer tax considerations faced by taxpayers whose assets include closely-held business interests.
