This program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the Continuing Legal Education Board. CLE Credit will be granted to attorneys.

Stroock partner Jacob Bart will serve as a faculty member for the webinar "Green Leases: Legal and Practical Strategies for Commercial Landlords and Tenants" on Wednesday, November 3, 2010.

Green leasing is a growing trend in commercial real estate. Commercial tenants are increasingly demanding space with sustainability-related features, forcing landlords to draft new leases or modify existing leases to incorporate green design and construction components.

Green leasing presents a number of unique challenges. Because minimal guidance exists on negotiating green leases, landlords and tenants are unsure what to expect of each other or the green tenancy. Careful drafting is critical to ensure leases that anticipate and address potential areas of dispute.

The webinar panel of real estate attorneys will explain common provisions and potential legal pitfalls for landlords and tenants in green leases. The panel also will outline best practices for negotiating and crafting leases and dealing with common legal and operational issues.
