New York, NY
Stroock will host a Government Leadership forum titled “Can Media Actions Impair Justice?” on December 6, 2016.
Given the 24 hour news cycles of today, some argue that justice—in civil and criminal cases—may be under serious attack by today’s news, editorial and internet coverage. Is sunlight [always] the best disinfectant?
The forum will feature Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein, Senior Judge, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York; Justice John M. Leventhal, Associate Justice, Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York Second Judicial Department; William K. Rashbaum, Reporter at the New York Times; and Judge Shira A. Scheindlin (Ret.), Stroock Of Counsel.
Robert Abrams, former New York State Attorney General and Chair of Stroock’s Government Relations Practice Group, and Joel Cohen, former Special Prosecutor and Stroock Of Counsel, will moderate this panel discussion.
