Matt Thompson has a wide-ranging transactional entertainment practice representing studios, networks, financial institutions, equity investors, radio syndication companies, completion guarantors, distributors, sales agents, producers, directors, writers, and actors.

Among his transactional matters, Mr. Thompson has represented:

  • Aramid Entertainment, a bridge and gap financier, on a number of its slate and single-picture loans.
  • A major independent film production company in the financing and distribution of numerous films and in the licensing of a film library in excess of 500 films.
  • The owner of the only unproduced Hunter S. Thompson book in the licensing of film rights to Warner Bros. and Initial Entertainment Group for a movie to star Johnny Depp.
  • A television production company in the syndication of 175 hours of television programming.
  • A well-known British celebrity in the creation of an international consumer product brand.
  • Premiere Radio Networks, the largest syndicator of radio programming in the U.S., in all of their significant talent negotiations including Whoopi Goldberg, Dr. Laura, Rush Limbaugh, Steve Harvey and Ryan Seacrest.
  • A major producer of children’s television programming in more than 30 transactions in the last year resulting in seven pilots and two series.
  • A high-net-worth individual in the formation of a film fund and the acquisition and production of initial projects.
  • A major independent television production company in the disposition of its assets.
  • A venture fund in the creation and sale of a significant internet program and the formation of a professional sports league.
