Julia Casteleiro's practice focuses on the representation of cooperative housing corporations, condominiums and homeowners associations on an array of legal matters pertaining to board governance. Ms. Casteleiro also represents developers in a broad range of legal issues, including title, financing, sales, owner and construction matters.
She counsels cooperative and condominium boards on a variety of governance issues involving shareholders and unit owners issues such as alterations, noise and odor nuisances and mortgage matters. Ms. Casteleiro also reviews and negotiates revisions to cooperative and condominium governing documents. Additionally, she dedicates a portion of her practice to representing individual sellers and buyers on the purchase and sale of their property.
Prior to law school, Ms. Casteleiro was a paralegal in Stroock's Real Estate Group with a focus on matters pertaining to the formation and sale of new condominium projects and served as the project lead on several major residential luxury condominium projects, providing her with experience, in a range of new construction and development issues – experiences she uses to strengthen her current practice.
Ms. Casteleiro also maintains a diverse pro bono practice and is a member of Stroock's housing court pro bono practice which provides various types of housing related legal assistance and advice to New York’s underserved and under-resourced communities.


Ms. Casteleiro has been named as a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" for 2016.
