James G. Sammataro Receives 2016 Burton Award for Legal Writing
New York, NY, April 6, 2016 -- Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a national law firm with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington, DC, announced that James G. Sammataro, a partner in Stroock's Entertainment and Litigation Practice Groups and managing partner for the firm's Miami office, has been selected as one of 35 winners of the Burton Awards' "Distinguished Legal Writing Award."
Mr. Sammataro's article "Problems In The 'Fight Of The Century' Class Actions," which was originally published by Law360, was chosen from nominations submitted by the nation’s top 1,000 law firms for articles written in 2015. Mr. Sammataro, as well as the other honorees, will be honored at a celebratory event that will be held at the Library of Congress next month.
The Burton Awards, established in 1999, is funded by the Burton Foundation, a non-profit, academic effort devoted to recognizing and rewarding excellence in the legal profession.
